A few people have asked me how I did the text on my painting.....well I cheated a little.
Sometimes I do write freehand with a Pitt pen, but on this occasion I used tissue paper.
First glue a piece of white tissue onto a sheet of A4 paper (only a thin line of glue around the edge!) Let it dry.
Then type the text on the computer and print it onto the tissue paper.
Pull it gently off the A4 (or cut around the edges so the tissue becomes free), then tear out the words carefully.
Glue them onto your work with gel medium and the tissue won't show! Its a bit like the paper napkin technique I suppose.
Make sure you glue the tissue down well (or use tape) or it will mangle up your printer - if you do that - I take no responsibility!!!
(PS The green mess is the mat I work on - in case you wondered!)

What a cool trick! I have always wondered how some artists get the words on their backgrounds so pretty. Now I know the secret! I have a couple of half done paintings that this would work great on.
Speaking of great. I was eyeballing that journal you were showing us in the pictures. The background texture is fabulous! I zoomed in the picture just to look at it.
Linda your work is so beautiful, just yummy color and rich imagery! I love the tissue idea but what is A4? I have never heard of I have printed on tissue directly on my epson, but it is alway chancy! the results are just oh so fabulous!
Excellent! Thank you so much for sharing this.
Wow thanks for sharing. This is great. Your work is absolutely unique Linda. Love them.
Thankyou for sharing this neat trick with us. It's ideal for those of us who are not calligraphers and as a famous gentleman once said: 'You can't see the join'!
This technique is cool !!
Thanks for sharing it.

Your projects are always so interesting, Linda! It's fun to "hear" how you get your results.
Hi, Linda! What a terrific tip! :-)
Thank you so much for your comment. ( I am unable to email you through the profile as I don't use Outlook).
Still not feeling very positive about my own work but I am really enjoying other people's.
Your pictures on this page are beautiful. Lovely colours too.

I think I might try this printing onto tissue paper tomorrow. Thank you for sharing.
(I have added email option to my profile. Thank you for pointing out that it was off). x
Thanks for the lesson, I am learning so much!
Fabulous how to Linda, tissue melts so beautifully onto the page, doesn't it!
Your paper protecting your tabletop looks like a perfect background piece!!!
