You Are Unique

I think I've lost sight of this somewhat! Thats the problem when you work on something for too long (and that was definitely my mistake).
But it's just a practice one before I start on wood. DH finally tracked down some birch plywood for me - thats what Suzi recommends because it has very little grain. I've also got some beeswax and a quilting iron; now all I need are some Stewart Gill translucent paints. (This painting is much too muddy, I know that.)
Anyway, I had fun...with acrylic paints, glaze medium, stamps, stencils and torn tissue paper.
Any advice or suggestions would be very welcome - I'm just learning!

Love Linda x

Mud - what mud? She is lovely. I've got the same problem - no SG paints for me until pay day - lol.....

I think you have done a fantastic job...she looks very ethereal (and not muddy at all).
I havent been able to get the birch ply wood yet either, so am just playing away with watercolour paper.

p.s. where are you getting your Stewart Gill paints from...I have some Golden Fluid acrylics so have been using them, but would love some of these Stewart Gill paints that Suzi uses.

Oh Linda, I just gave a little whoop of delight to see your first piece!! Congratulations. You SO inspire me to try this. I find your piece has such softness to it. Her dress looks almost quilted to me. Beautiful colour combination too! Okay, time to sign up!

Hi Linda

I am having fun catching up with your blog posts since you have been back. And there is SO much to see!

I think you have done a wonderful job on this work of art. The colors aren't muddy at all (in my humble opinion).

Jacky and I were chatting yesterday and we both agreed that your art is so varied. And you have so much talent.

I love visiting here and ALWAYS leave feeling inspired.

She is just lovely! There seems to be a resemblance …to you…self portrait?
Anyways, I don’t see the mud but then again we are our hardest critic.

Luv your site and thanks for the interesting video on Frida. I have heard her mentioned and seen her painted but after watching this I’m intrigued to learn more about her. Thanks for the interesting read.

have you tried rubbing some paint and glaze mixed over the blended areas you think are muddy? if you keep a damp sponge alongside, you can always blot it off....i like golden liquid acrylics and i just rub a bit in with my finger and blot with a damp cosmetic sponge but paint and glaze work too -I think a turquois or aqua (and copper/bronze) would make a nice highlight color for your piece.....sometimes it really helps me to put it out of sight for couple days and then look with fresh eyes!!

your painting is really, really lovely just the way it is...but you mentioned that you are open to learning and i just wanted to share some things that i like to do...

Be filled with Wonder and Peace.....and Cosiness

I hope you're managing to embrace this change of season. I'm so much better at accepting the end of summer than I used to be. I&...
