I scanned press studs to form part of the background, then added incidental items I found around me during the 2 days it took to complete the pages .
Then we were asked to consider what we have recently lost and found.
On the leaf we were asked to write 'I am...' statements about ourselves. This was so difficult!! But I really like these pages; they are very personal to me and I enjoyed doing them.
Here are the first stages of my latest Suzi Blu workshop painting. I think I'll call her Marina - unless I can think of something better (can you?)Since I took the second photo I've painted the background blue - but I'll show you that tomorrow. Please note...I have actually painted arms!!!!!!!
(PS The colour of the dress should be the same in both - just shows you what a difference lighting makes!)
I've had a busy weekend; we had a big family wedding yesterday at a beautiful country house. I can't show any pictures without asking the bride's permision first so instead I'll show one of my gorgeous DD and DH (and you may spot me in the mirror taking the picture!)
Before I go I just want to thank everyone for the amazing response Rosie and I have had to the new challenge blog.It means such a lot receive all your comments ....... can't wait to see your shrines!!

Your mermaid looks fabulous...liking the arms Linda! I have been working on mine too and posted a WIP on my blog. Have since added more stamping and colourwash but will post that pic next week when I work out what to do next.
You are really doing well with these online classes and your journalling, zooming along and we are all really enjoying seeing your art evolving.
DH & DD look very dapper going off to the wedding - lovely to see pics of your family (and yourself of course, in the mirror).
Very nice mermaids Linda, I like mermaids. Lovely picture of Liz and your Hubby, they look very smart, no pictures of you? tut....tut....The new journal pages are wonderful, I like the idea of creating these unusual backgrounds with items that are lying around.
Nearly time for me to start my journal, very excited, Jaqi xx
Hi Linda your work is just amazing. Lost and Found is exceptionally brilliant and just love Marina.
Doesn't your daughter look like you ...
This is a lovely post Linda. I enlarged the photo of your Lost and Found pages so I could look at the detail. Gorgeous work (the scan of the press studs was such a clever idea). Love the colors you have used (as always). And was very touched by your words.
You are a beautiful soul, a great mum, daughter , wife and friend. And you are most definitely an artist (most definitely).
Love Marina the mermaid (yay for the arms!). And the shot of Liz and Brian is lovely.
Dot xx
Wonderful Lost and Found pages, I love the background colour and your little swirls and flourishes really add to it. I love your other art work too, you really are an artist. ~HUGZ~

Apart from being beautiful, these new pages resonate - I can see why you liked doing them.

Your lost and found pages are gorgeous. Great job on your Suzi Blu exercises. The mermaid is adorable.
I've been following your progress with Suzi's doll's class - I was unable to take it -- and you're creating same beautiful "petitte dolls"! Congratulations! I'm writing because I'm intrigued by a technique on your "lost and found" journal pages. As you said you scanned the studs and then printed them, so I'd like to know if you printed directly on watercolor paper. Or did you print on some different medium and then cut/pasted into your journal? I have never printed on watercolor paper (though on pretty much everything else) and I love the idea of incorporating the "scan thing" into my pages also .. I can use a few pointers - my thanks and many warm wishes,
V.
