Me and Rosie

Rosie is coming to stay with me next week - she'll be the first person to use my new guest room!
I'm so looking forward to seeing her.

My craft room is almost finished; I've made some crazy curtains that go well with the 2 turquoise walls. I'm just putting ATCs into clip frames to decorate the walls. The window frame doesn't really change colour half way down - its a bamboo blind!

Changing the subject - have you heard Coldplays new single 'Viva la Vida'? I've played it about a dozen times today, I think Brian's starting to get fed up with it (but I'm not).
Maybe I'll go and put it on again........

SESGA - YOU ARE AMAZING!

Today was my lucky day - I received 3 parcels in the post!

The biggest was from Sesga - she and I have been doing secret swaps this week, but I just can't believe what she sent me!

A rolled clay picture which she had stamped onto and painted (so pretty) and a beautiful fabric ATC.

Plus a papier mache shrine which I had admired on her blog - including gorgeous turquoise beads to decorate it with. Can't wait to paint this! Finally - and I can't believe this - she included this absolutely stunning picture she'd made from rolled paper clay. If you look on her blog she describes how she made it. It is quite big - 15cm x 19cm and looks even better in real life. I love it so much Sesga - even the words are perfect. I just can't thank you enough. xxxxxxxx

Zetti Stamps

My Zetti stamps arrived today from America and I love them all! I ordered 6 and received 4 more as free gifts! (I've done well this week)
Anyway, this one here is my favourite - I've only stamped it straight onto some Basic Grey paper to show you, I'll be doing something 'proper' with it later!
The website is bizarre, exciting and inspiring -

Torso Swap

I joined in with a torso swap at Zuzu's Petals and Buds (organised by Mandy) and received these today, from (l to r) Sandy, Anne and Kily. They are absolutely gorgeous and look good with my growing collection!

Art Doll

I visited Mandy's blog last night and she had a free collage sheet of decorative words - go and have a look. The person who did it for her has an etsy shop
http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5250859
with loads of collage sheets, very reasonably priced.
I bought a few - including an art doll sheet with torsos and limbs (add your own head!) Anyway, I made this art doll with it today - along with the head I added my own boots, words, heart, wings from Artchix and bird from Lisa's Altered Art (more good places to shop!)
I'm still pondering over whether the arms and legs should go on top of the torso.......

Papers and Chocolate!

Just had to share with you my delight at receiving these gorgeous papers today from a brilliant company called Make the Moment Last. The ones above are by CratePaper (love those colours - and they are all reversible).
These are all Cosmo Cricket, so Chriss will soon be getting some more artwork from me for the Papergirls blog! These are all reversible too - lovely and grungy, just what I like!

And to top it all there was a chocolate bar in the parcel!

And thats all thats left of it!

PS they have just told me if you mention my name you'll get 10% off.

PPS please scroll down and see my postcard.

Sunday Postcard

This is my entry for the Sunday Postcard Art challenge, run by Mandy and Donna. The theme is Showgirls. I found it quite difficult working in a larger format - I've got so used to ACT-sized things!
I threw it in the bin twice and got it out again and added more. It's still not brill, but hopefully it will do.
The picture is an old one of Twiggy which I cut out of a magazine recently - I knew it would come in handy!

Fabric Russian Doll

I've just finished this for a lovely friend (who loves fabric!).

It's ATC sized and has wadding inside, so has a quilty effect that you can't appreciate from the photo.

The face is Dottee - inspired of course!

I thought a Russian word was appropriate to describe her and her recipient ........ krasivyi means beautiful.

Hope you like it!

A Touch of Pink

I was going to enter this tag for the Arty Girlz 'Touch of Pink' challenge ... but I'm too late!
Oh well, here it is anyway.

Zetti Girl Tag

Just made a quick tag so you can see the Zetti Girl in her full glory.

I'm awaiting an order of Zettiology stamps from Teesha Moore - hope they come tomorrow!

Theme Thursday

'Put a hat in your creation' is this weeks Theme Thursday.

I've been playing with this new stamp today - its a Zettiology from Scrapz.

The background stamp is a Tim Holz design, also purchased from Scrapz.

One more

Couldn't resist one more baby Russian Doll - this one is also heading off in a package tomorrow.
Now on to Rosie's birdies!

On their way

Just thought I'd show these before I post them off to someone.
I made another blue baby Russian Doll and gave him a cute hat (it was actually to cover a little smudge I'd made on his forehead...ooops!)

I still love making these Papillon houses. The image is from Lunagirl - a great place to buy from as you get instant digital downloads, under £2 a sheet (20 images on this sheet).
These houses are quite small - 11 cm tall and 3 cm wide.

Stamped Hand

Chriss set another challenge this week - to draw around your hand and decorate it with stamps.
Here's my attempt.

It was fun to do - the only downside was cleaning all the stamps after!!

The Paper Girls

Chriss Rollins has set up a new blog showing a variety of creative papercrafts using materials from specific manufacturers. I am honoured to be on the design team, along with Rosie, Chriss, Denise and Chrissy.
Here is the link for the blog: www.thepapergirls.blogspot.com

Cookie's Red Shoes

Cookie Sunshine is celebrating 5000 visitors to her blog by giving away some of her drawings in a competition, including 'Red Shoes'.
The draw will take place on June 30th.

Red shoes were very popular when I was young...and here I am wearing mine! Unfortunately they didn't have bows like Cookie's.

Cookie's drawings can be seen on her Etsy site as well as on her blog. They are absolutely gorgeous and each one comes with a poem!

Dad

Happy Fathers Day Dad.
You had a good day (apart from falling over on the lawn when you got home - and that was before you had a tot of whisky!!)
Lots of love

More Matryoshka Dolls

Here are the other two I made for Chriss's challenge - they are on her blog along with many others! I recommend you take a look.

Russian Dolls

Chriss has got me making these little Russian Dolls - and now I can't stop! You can see more of mine on her blog today.

I made the background using alcohol inks on a glazed paper and added embossed hearts. For the body I used a paper from Artchix (its a Belinda Schneider design) and added extra swirls and flowers.

I think there may be more of these to come!!

Mona torso

Just so you know I'm not totally 'Frida fixated', here's a Mona torso.
I used a Laura Ashley paper for the background and added my own flourishes.
Thank you Rosie for the lovely Art stamp.

Butterflies

Two more Fridas....the second one using my favourite Frida picture and my favourite font.

Belleza

I'm having a crafting day all by myself ..... at last!
So finally I can get on with my torso swaps. Thanks to everyone who is joining in.... you'll be getting one (or two) of these.
This one is my favourite - I don't think I could repeat it as it started off as a random collage of different papers and kind of grew from there. I drew and cut out the little flowers and wrote Kahlo by hand. Belleza means beautiful.

More later when I can persuade blogger to put pictures where I want them!

Lucky Me!

I came home to a wonderful surprise... a parcel of gorgeous treats from Dot !
We have been swapping together; I sent her an Angelina ATC, an icicle doll, a felt bracelet and an Art Doll.
Well, first I discovered this beautiful matryoshka doll with her cute little children....just look at their lovely faces! It must have taken Dot ages to sew on all those beads, birds and ladybirds.
Next I unwrapped this stunning icicle doll; my photo doesn't really do justice to the beautiful colours and all the amazing detail. Its so lovely to touch.
And as if all that wasn't enough, Dot also made me 2 fabulous fabric ATCs which are covered in buttons and beads. Oh and there was more...some pieces of fabric for me to play with!
Thank you so much Dot...I love them all and I really appreciate the time and thought you've put into these lovely works of art.
If you haven't seen Dot's blog yet, I recommend you take a look.

I'm back!

Oh I wish I was there now! This is me next to a church above the beautiful Skiathos town which looks huge, but it isn't really. Its just a glorious mixture of houses, bars, shops and tavernas. The rest of the (tiny) island is quite a contrast: just countryside and small resorts. click on the pic to see the town in more detail.

Be filled with Wonder and Peace.....and Cosiness

I hope you're managing to embrace this change of season. I'm so much better at accepting the end of summer than I used to be. I&...
