Another Felting Class...and More Flowers!

Yesterday I taught another felting class at The Beetroot Tree Gallery
....... this time we made felt beads and bracelets. We rolled the wool fibres with warm water and soap to make balls, let them dry, stitched beads onto them, then strung them onto shirring elastic with glass and silver beads in between.

I also paid homage to Jean (you can see her felt and silk flower tutorial here) and we made flowers to add to the beacelets. Instead of using coloured silk flowers though, I bought some very cheap white blossoms on a stem (from Wilko) and took them to pieces.....
......sprayed them with inks.......

..........and then felted them together and stitched beads in the centres.

The ladies were all delighted with their results........

Your bracelets are fab!
No wonder the ladies were delighted with your flowers...they are amazing!
What do you mean that you "felted" them together? Would you mind sharing that part?
The flowers are stunning. You are truly a genius at creating things.

Pound shops are a great source for flower sprays which can be deconstructed too.

I love what you've done here.

Wow - those flowers are amazing - I must rush to wilco immediately!! I recently learned to wet felt on a textiles evening class. I have only done it flat so far but it would be fun to experiment with beads too! I've also done a couple of SuziBlu's courses and have just started with Piety and Passion so it's lovely to see a relatively local person doing it too!
regards, Marie
