Felting Frenzy!

This week I've been having some fun with knitting and felting. I've seen felted animals on etsy and thought I'd have a go at making a bird.
I didn't really know what I was doing and it didn't look too promising at first......

.......but it grew......
......and finally ended up looking something like a bird!

Here are the knitted flowers before the hot wash.......

..............and after
I've made these before and added beads, but this time I decided to do some needle-felting onto them (after the wash). All the flowers were made from the same ball of variegated Noro wool.

The bird was made from wool top bought from Wingham Wool.

And finally......
I treated myself to a second hand Cricut machine this week - and cut all these out this morning. What fun!!!!
My intention is to scrapbook the huge pile of photos we have........(when I get a spare minute or two).

You are so clever Linda, I think your bird is perfect, and I love the flowers too.
How can you say it looks something like a bird when it is fantastic. We are so alike as we already noticed but even when it comes to creating, we both like to dabble in different things.... how could life ever be boring?
Oh almost forgot, that little machine is great, love all the little things it cuts out :)

I forgot something... how about a felted nest for that bird and some eggs? You can do it :)
I bet a nest could be knitted and then felted just like those felted bowls only on a small scale.

I LOVE your felted birds! I plan on trying out needle-felting on some knitted/felted bags I've made. The flowers are wonderful, too!

Did the Noro felt well for you? I've had problems getting it to felt like it should.

Your blog is just inspiring :)
