Created By Hand Challenge

I made this ATC for the 'Created By Hand' challenge blog.

I used torn text, gesso, patterned paper napkins, an Artchix image, Zetti stamp, lace and patterned paper. I wrote the quote Dreams are free, so free your dreams, which is by Astrid Alauda.

Have you discovered the joys of patterned paper napkins yet?

If you tear off the bits you want and glue them down the outline doesn't show. You can also layer them.

Ro Bruhn and Sharon Tomlinson use them to great effect in their artwork.

Arty Girlz Challenge

As its my favourite colour, I just had to have a go at the Arty Girlz challenge this week!
'The challenge is to have the colour BLUE as the main feature on your creation. '
I used techniques I've learnt from Sarah.
I stuck down torn print and patterned paper, dry brushed over with white and blue paint, stamped using a white stamp pad, added pictures from magazines and finally doodled the writing freehand. It measures 9" by 6" approx.
Actually the main thing I've learnt from Sarah is to be brave and not think too much about what you're doing but just have a go.

PS Some of you have asked if I'm going to show the last 4 pages from my Journal in full. I'm still working on them and want to show them when they are finished.

Dans ma maison il y a.....

Dans ma maison il y a ......... La Tour Eiffel!
This is my contribution for this weeks challenge.
I used the PaperArtsy stamp plus some of the multi-image stamp that I bought when Rosie was here (so, Rosie, this is also my version for our challenge!)
You can see her Paris collage on her blog.
I stitched a lot of this down and used transparencies for the butterfly and the french script on the roof.
Added a few doodles, a bit of glitter, some embossing....then decided it was best to stop!

Sunday Postcard

This is my entry for the Sunday Postcard Art challenge, run by Mandy and Donna. The theme is Showgirls. I found it quite difficult working in a larger format - I've got so used to ACT-sized things!
I threw it in the bin twice and got it out again and added more. It's still not brill, but hopefully it will do.
The picture is an old one of Twiggy which I cut out of a magazine recently - I knew it would come in handy!

Chris's Challenge

This is my attempt at a scrapbook page for Chris's 'Love Challenge'.

I though I'd do something a bit different; I'm going to put it above my work table.... so I suppose really its for me. I've been wanting to record the things I love for some time - its a lovely task to sit down and make a list. Of course I couldn't put everything on, there are things missing.......chocolate truffles, fairy lights, natural beaches, friends, turquoise and lime, David Beckham.........

I may have another go at this in the future when I've acquired a few more skills and can make a better job of it!
A few gripes...the print is too small so you'll have to click on it to read the words.
My camera is bending the sides of my photographs!

Thanks for the challenge, anyway Chris. I enjoyed doing it.

I hope you're managing to embrace this change of season. I'm so much better at accepting the end of summer than I used to be. I...
