A Few Things I Forgot......

For those of you who do digital art, here are some free textures for you to download. They are photographs I took at a local National Trust property - Calke Abbey in Derbyshire. Everyone else was taking photos of the house and the furniture whilst I was getting excited about the plaster walls. Got a few funny looks.......

Just click on the image, then save as....

I forgot to mention in my last post that the lovely Diane at My Art Journal is having a give away.....go see her lovely paintings. She is such a prolific artist...I don't know how she does it!

I adore this Garden Girl.

I also meant to show the Lotus Flower books done by two of my blogging friends; Lorraine at Love of Collage ....

.....and Jill at Third Age Musings. Its so nice to see other peoples' versions of these little books. Thank you girls for having a go....your books are lovely!

Isn't it amazing that when we walk around with our eyes wide open we see so much more than the average person? I do the same thing. Photos of up-close and real textures are my favorites. Glad I found your blog. I'll be back.

Lovely walls, particularly the ivy. gorgeous kitten - my eldest & my 'dil' have just got an identical one called Harley, not sure of the sex. I'll look (!) when they have a flying visit for the Highland games in 2 weeks!

Drooling over the sari ribbon colors & envious of your meet with Maggi, that must have been fun!

I know just what you means about photographing textures! I often take pictures of crumbly walls, lichen and anything that I think would look good in my digital art and I'm sure passers by think I've lost it!

Thanks for sharing your textures - they are great.

Beautiful photographs. Very kind of you to share them. I can remember taking photographs of manhole covers with amazing designs when in France. I had some strange looks that day.
