More Photos

Soller (pron: Soy-air) is situated in a valley, a couple of miles from the sea. Old wooden trams take you the short journey to the coast. To get to Soller you travel through these mountains in a tunnel 3km long.

The centre of the town has the most stunning cathedral, designed by a pupil of Gaudi.
There are bars and restaurants all around the central square.......

......and the trams run right through the middle of them.
Our hotel room had a little balcony overlooking the garden.

And finally another view of the fabulous staircase!Travel Journal pictures coming later!

New Award

I want to thank my lovely friend Jaqi for giving me this award - she is always so kind to me.
And Karen from the brilliant Scrapz - her shop just gets better and better!
Thank you also to Sue, a new friend I have met through Sarah Whitmire's Soul Journal. We are also doing Suzi Blu's workshop together and have both signed up for Sarah's Joggles course in November. Can't wait for that!

I want to pass this award on to Sesga...who is an absolute sweetheart (and I hope to meet up with her one day soon in Wales).
Also Shashi...doll-maker extraordinaire!!! She's just celebrating reaching her 200th post with some prizes; go and have a look.
Finally my fab friend Rosie who I am meeting up with for a few days next week and I CAN'T WAIT!

Wonderful to be back?

Its hard to believe that we had breakfast outside this morning under a clear blue sky then arrived back at East Midlands airport in pouring rain and it was freezing!!!
I know I mustn't complain though; I'm so lucky to have escaped it all for a few days.
Our hotel in Soller (La Vila) was beautiful, with the most amazing staircase.
A few more pictures tomorrow..... I must now sort through all my emails.

But before I forget.......................................

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROSIE!

Off to Sunny Soller!

I'm going to Soller (in Majorca) tomorrow morning so won't be blogging for a week. I've made a travel journal and I'm taking some Sharpie pens, a glue stick and watercolour crayons so I can keep a record. I'll show you when I get back.
Here's the cover, I used Sarah Whitmire's tape technique.........
...and I've prepared some pages with gesso, acrylic washes and torn paper. I'm aiming for the Teesha Moore look, lol!!!!! (I wish)

I'll be here....where the trams take you down to the sea.

See you soon.....

The Real Frida

This video clip of Frida is amazing. Its not brilliant quality, but its definitely worth watching. The music is rather wonderful, too.

Viva La Vida

I've put this here for purely selfish reasons.....so I can watch it whenever I want!
I've listened to the song many, many times but I'm not tiring of it yet.

Be filled with Wonder and Peace.....and Cosiness

I hope you're managing to embrace this change of season. I'm so much better at accepting the end of summer than I used to be. I...
