Oh where did those last few weeks go........

A slightly late but very sincere Happy New Year everyone. I'm hoping to get back to some kind of normality now.... Mum is making great progress following her operation and we've even been able to take her to see Dad in the nursing home. She'll soon be running marathons..... ;-)
Yesterday I taught a class at the Beetroot Tree and we decorated tiny 6cm boxes. These are a few of my examples.
I had lots of lovely Christmas presents but just wanted to show you my new Troll bead - its a little silver flounder; so cute! My bracelet is full now....and full of memories too. Every bead is special and meaningful. So I told DH.....its time for me to start a new one in a different colour!! :-)

I also had a stamp carving kit and have been going crazy with it (no injuries to report as yet...)
.......and I also received four gorgeous art books which I haven't read yet because I've been so busy with my DJ Pettitt Digital workshop.
I've never used Photoshop before so I've struggled quite a bit but I think there's light at the end of the tunnel. I'll show you some results in the next couple of days.

Here's a little preview....my first practice piece (only 3 layers). I used my Maria painting for the base.

The boxes are lovely as well as your bracelet.
Did you mean you carved those stamps??? Well done! I can't wait to see what you make using them!
Your digi work looks fab with your art behind. You are way ahead of me with computers, I have barely begun.
Happy New Year to you too!

Happy New Year to you too!

So pleased your Mum is doing well. You must have been busy 'to-and-froing' between your Mum and Dad, in more ways than one, over the past few weeks.... always tough.

Ooo, love your first piece from your DJ Pettit workshop... can't believe this is only a 'practice' as its gorgeous already!!!

Great news about your Mum, Linda. Your bracelet is beautiful - I love beads. Those books look great - I have the Beryl Taylor one and did I spot one of Maggie Grey's? I admire both of them so much. The little boxes are delightful and your hand carved stamps are stunning. Looking forward to seeing what you do with them. Keep warm!

I have never heard of troll beads, you will have to explain to me exactly what they are now. They do look lovely on your bracelet.
I think of Trolls as those little dolls we had with the bright colored hair LOL...
Love the boxes, you must be a great teacher :) You should show more of your digi work here too, you are doing fantastic:)

Good news about your mum Linda. Lots of goodies for you to play with. The stamp carving kit looks like it's getting plenty of use. Your Photoshop image is very effective - not bad for a beginner!

I dont know where the time has gone either...life has been a whirl!!!
Thanks for sharing your lovely photos. Your classes at the Beetroot Gallery look wonderful (wish I lived close by).
Just love your handmade stamps...arent they fun to make! Great to personalise your artwork too. I've made a few over the holidays too...got the bug!
Mmm the photoshop course with DJ sounds wonderful. I lost my photoshop on the computer when it crashed last time (not that I knew how to use it much mind you) and I havent been able to upload it again otherwise I would love to learn how to use it properly like you are.
Glad you hear your mum is much better after her operation and life is sort of getting back to normal (whatever that is).

Love those wee boxes. I have some to do and can take inspiration from yours now.

Gorgeous bracelet and so special that each bead has meaning.

Wow, carving stamps? Not heard of that - will have to investigate and your books look fascinating.
