Busy, Busy...........

Life has been rather hectic just recently....mum was in hospital for a while having a (second) hip replacement. She was lucky enough to get a place as an NHS patient in a private hospital but it was quite a long way for us to travel. Now she's home she needs a lot of support and she's missing having dad around to help her. But we are managing ok and I was very grateful that my sister came up to help over the weekend.
I recently did an inchie swap with Rini and can you believe it took my parcel 4 weeks to reach her in Holland! (First class post?!) We got so fed up that I sent her another parcel last week - then, of course, the original one arrived.
Anyway......these are the felted, embroidered inchies that I sent to her.
I've been making Christmas cards in between visiting mum. Used Angelina fibres, Christmas stamps, beads and needle-felted fabric.
Lat night I had fun at the Beetroot Tree Gallery making Christmas tags with my class.
A couple of weeks ago I bought some plain wooden decorations at the German Christmas market in Nottingham.......then painted and embellished them.
And I couldn't resist buying this nougat at my local delicatessen shop (despite the price...eeeek!) I'm thinking of using it as inspiration for a future piece of embroidery! It tasted so good I went back and bought another piece for my mum.
I hope you're all enjoying your Christmas preparations......have fun!!!

What a fantastic post Linda, and I do hope your Mum is making a good recovery. I love your inchies - the colours are so gorgeous. The cards, tags and decorations are lovely too, but I'll pass on the nougat as I'm trying to hang on to my ancient dental fillings! It does look tempting though.

Oh YUMMMMM that nougat looks delicious! No wonder you went back to get more.

I cant believe I missed this post and all your wonderful goodies!! Those inchies for Rini are so beautiful. She will be rapt, shame they took so long to arrive, you poor thing making more to send.

I love your cards with the postage stamps. I sooo love Christmas stamps. Especially love the one on the bottom left. Beautiful!

Lovely, lovely tags too. Looks like a fun class, lots of variety too.

Glad to hear your mum is on the mend after her 2nd hip replacement. Nice that your sister was able to come and spend a weekend with her too. Give you a little bit of respite.

Sending Christmas Cheer.

OMG those cards look wonderful, I'd not want to part with them if I'd made them.

Great ATCs too and love the ornaments and tags, well, as always, find it all inspiring.

Oooooh, that nougat! Looks yummy.

I'm thinking of having a go at making some fudge which will be a first. Mind you, I don't actually like it myself but I think it will make good presents.

Glad your Mum's home and on the way to recovery. I was amazed at how quickly my Mum got back on her feet this year after her second hip replacement following a fall and fracture. If you're in need of help with her, she should be able to get carers for 6 weeks, free of charge (if she's not had them before) just to ease the rehabilitation.

Hi Linda, I'm Diane--I'm so glad I found your blog. I found it through Tara's (Aquamarine). I see that you took the Suzi Blu class. I want to take the goddess and poet class in Jan. I love her faces, and I think you've captured the look. How did you like the class? I'll be looking forward to future posts!!
