Scrapbook Layouts

Rosie and I spent almost 3 days together last week at my house. We had a lovely time .... we visited the Beetroot Tree Gallery and Peartree Yard ('Aladdin's Cave'), went to The Living Threads embroidery exhibition at Trent College which was just brilliant, had coffee and lunch in Andersons (gorgeous delicatessen).....and, oh yes, we did some crafting as well!

I helped Rosie with her first attempt at hand needle-felting and free machine embroidery (she was a bit too good at it) and she got me started with scrapbooking. I'm doing a book on Soller (Majorca). Here are a few of the pages.......

I've still got lots more to do....and I will hopefully get better at it. But it's so much nicer than an ordinary photo album!!

I've ordered a couple of books from Amazon and one arrived today...it looks fab! I'm hoping to learn how to do wet felting and nuno felting properly.Did anyone else go to this? All the exhibits were fabulous and very inspiring...there was also a shop with all hand made items and demonstrations of different techniques. Rosie and I fell in love with the embellishing machine! (But why are they SO expensive - can anyone tell me?)

Scrapbook layouts are beautiful. What a lovely way to store all your holiday memories.

You are right the book is much better than a broing album, and even batter than a laptop screen. I hardly ever print my photos out these days. Its a shame.
I've got that felt book. You'll enjoy making felt. There are hundreds of ways to do it. I like the bamaboo mat method, but I have recently gone on to bubblewrap..it just seems easier to me.
Have fun

What a fantastic three days and I love your scrapbook pages - they are so good. No need to get better at it. They are like a lovely visual diary of a holiday - as you say, so much nicer than putting photos in an album. Good luck with the felting. I fancy an embellisher and wish they were a bit cheaper.

Great layouts Linda :) You and Rosie did a heck of a lot in just a few days but I know you just loved it!
I used to knit and felt in the machine, havn't tried any other methods though. I just can't seem to sit still and knit anymore these days, but maybe I will get back to it at some point :)

You must be so pleased with your pages so far. Extra fun getting to create with a special friend too. One day I would like to do some photo layouts, such a wonderful way to enjoy your travels and adventures all over again!

Thank you for dropping by my blog. I'm glad you had a good few days and enjoyed the exhibition. Hope you enjoy Sheila Smith's book, I have had it for a while now and it is so useful. I confess to having bought an embellisher a couple of years ago and have certainly had plenty of use out of it.

You've finished off what we started really well! Don't the pages just capture the atmosphere of the place - its such a lovely way to remember.
